稻米是日本越后妻有地区的主要经济产品之一；我们自己又是来自稻米文化的建筑师。意识到以上两点，我们设计了一个建筑空间装置，不仅给外来的游客，同时也给本地的农民都提供了一个休息和观景的场所。用钢隔栅建造的装置，远观是一个取景框，近看是一个有两把座椅的亭子。它是一个概念上的住宅。稻宅使人们更意识到四季的变化：它在春天向水中投下倒影，夏天浮在稻浪之上，秋天站在稻茬之中，冬天被掩埋在积雪之下。即使在冬天仍然可以看到一个在高起杆件顶部的1：10的模型，提醒大家春天来临时稻宅又会出现

Recognizing rice being one of the primary economies in the region of Echigo-Tsumari and as architects from a rice culture ourselves, we have created a piece of architectural work that offers a place in the paddy field to take a break and enjoy the scenery to both the visitors and the local farmers. Therefore, Rice House, constructed with steel grating, constitutes a picture frame from a distance and a pavilion with two chairs once near. Or perhaps it is a conceptual house. Rice House accentuates peoples’ sense of the seasonal changes by casting reflection in the water in the spring, floating over the waving ocean of golden rice in summer, anchoring to the ground among the rice stems in the fall, and being buried in the snow in the winter. However, it would not totally disappear even in the middle of winter, since a revolving 1:10 model placed high on a post will be always visible reminding one the new spring to come.
